USCCA Qualifications represent personal self-defense achievements, and are earned after a member has completed online eLearning courses and an in-person range experience.
Qualifications are updated every year, so a 2020 Level 01 USCCA Qualification is different from a 2021 Level 01 USCCA Qualification.
Because the best way to keep protectors, like yourself, ready to face a deadly threat is by keeping the eLearning material and range experiences up-to-date so you’re challenged to become better.
Please note that qualifications are not certifications, but the USCCA does offer many certifications that can enhance your overall member experience.

USCCA Qualifications represent different levels of self-defense understanding and firearms skill, with the most important being the very first qualification: Level 01.
Because the Level 01 USCCA Qualification course covers the necessary self-defense and firearms fundamentals that will help people become truly capable protectors, regardless of whether they’re a beginner, expert or anywhere in between.
That’s why the Level 01 USCCA Qualification is available for all USCCA Members (Gold, Platinum, Elite).
But we know there are A LOT of people who want more training, more education and a path to become an even more capable protector.
So if you want access to Level 02 qualifications, you just have to upgrade to Platinum, and if you want to really build a lifesaving skill set (and challenge yourself), you can become an Elite USCCA Member and get access to everything the USCCA has to offer.
The Drill of the Month is a fun, challenging and rewarding firearm drill that you can train at your favorite range.
Each month, the USCCA Training Team will create a short and sweet video that shows a drill you can practice to build and reinforce an important firearms skill.
The Drill of the Month is not required for any qualification or membership, but does offer another way to become a better protector.
To access the USCCA Drill of the Month, and view all past drills, simply click here.
USCCA Qualification courses are part of your USCCA Membership.
They represent an important progression (like stepping stones) toward the goal of building and honing your firearms skills.
So, no, you can’t buy them directly, but you can upgrade your membership at any time to access new qualifications (and get even more member benefits).
To get access to more USCCA Qualifications by upgrading your membership, simply click here.
Once you’ve earned a USCCA Qualification, you can access the course at any time on the Protector Academy home page, or by clicking here.
USCCA Certifications are different from USCCA Qualifications.
USCCA Certifications let people become firearms instructors and certified trainers; helping other Americans build, expand and polish lifesaving self-defense and firearms skills, ultimately making them better protectors.
USCCA Qualifications represent personal self-defense achievements, and are earned after a member has completed online eLearning courses and an in-person range experience.
The good news is, you can get both!

USCCA Qualifications are benchmarks of personal achievement. They do not certify you to teach classes, certify or qualify others, or apply for your concealed carry permit.
However, the USCCA does have ways you can teach others and apply for your concealed carry permit.
If you want to teach others about being responsible firearms owners and protectors, you can become a USCCA Certified Instructor by clicking here.
If you want to be able to apply for your concealed carry permit, you can check out the USCCA’s Reciprocity & State Gun Law Map to see your state’s requirements for applying by clicking here.
If your state does require a class or course to apply for your permit, you can search offerings and find a class near you by clicking here.
Protector Academy courses and qualifications are designed to be experiences that allow you to repeatedly challenge yourself; honing your skills and refining your knowledge of firearms and self-defense.
If you have taken other eLearning, online, or in-person USCCA courses you are not required to complete them again.
However, the USCCA strongly encourages its members, prospects and the tens of millions of responsible American gun owners to seek consistent training and improvement so they can always be prepared to protect with confidence.
Note: If you are a USCCA Certified Instructor, you will be required to retake courses and offerings to keep your certification current with our curriculum.
In short, yes, but there’s a reason…
USCCA Qualifications are updated and refined every year to give our members accurate and reliable information in line with the latest research and self-defense methods.
So if you become a Gold USCCA Member in 2020, you can earn the 2020 Level 01 USCCA Qualification.
This way, members are encouraged to repeatedly challenge themselves to keep their firearms skills and self-defense knowledge current.
Yes and no.
The only way to view, access and complete USCCA Qualifications is to be a member.
